A few noteworthy tidbits from Boston College’s 85-74 defeat of Maine, the only game involving an ACC team on Saturday’s schedule …
1. It was Boston College’s largest offensive output in more than a year. The Eagles’ 85 points were their most since an 89-78 defeat of Washington on Nov. 22, 2013. Boston College (5-3) had only one 70-point outing (a 79-point game against Marist) prior to Thursday this season.
2. Boston College has a three-game winning streak. The Eagles have strung together victories over Marist, Providence and Maine, the first time they’ve won three straight since collecting four in a row in March 2013. The Eagles should match that streak when woeful Binghamton (1-10) pays a visit to Conte Forum.
3. All five starters scored in double figures for the Eagles. Aaron Brown scored 21 points, and the Eagles also got significant contributions from Dennis Clifford (19), Patrick Heckmann (13), Dimitri Batten (12) and Olivier Hanlan (10) in the victory. It’s the first time since a Jan. 18 loss at North Carolina that Boston College got at least 10 points from each of its starters.
It’s another light night in the ACC, with only one game scheduled as schools continue to navigate final exams.
Charleston Southern at N.C. State (7): The Wolfpack (7-1) plays the first of two games in three days at venerable Reynolds Coliseum as the Buccaneers (5-2) come to Raleigh.
