Two, new kitties help columnist with her writing duties

They are also trying to offer their assistance with the typing. There is a lot of purring going on to give me added encouragement as well. Krutron The Fearless has offered to drink my coffee lest I ingest too much caffeine. Meowth is content to see if there is something new to knock off of the desk.

I hope everyone’s Christmas was as wonderful as my family’s this year. It goes without saying that we ate too much. I introduced the British tradition of opening Christmas crackers that pop when you pull them. Inside each cracker was a paper crown and a joke or game. We all wore our crowns as we ate our Christmas meal and felt quite festive.

The children all seemed to receive things they really wanted for Christmas. The adults in the family did, too. Gray and I received tickets to see the Broadway show “Wicked” in Raleigh. Daughter Amy wanted us to see it but was a little sad that she thought she was not going until she opened the gift from husband Matt that included their tickets. He gave her a very happy surprise.

Grandsons Carter and Grayson are really into the Super Smash Brothers game, so I gave them amiibos (interactive figurines) for their game. They each gave me an amiibo that I can use with their game when I am with them. They gave me Pikachu and Donkey Kong, and I think they look great just sitting on the piano. Being a nerd, I love that sort of thing.
