Tourism breakfast participants talk social media strategies

The Lynchburg Department of Tourism held a breakfast for regional tourism stakeholders Monday morning at the Kirkley Hotel, with state and local tourism officials discussing their social media marketing strategy and the close ties of tourism, business and the overall economy.

“We need to expand on that famous ‘Virginia is for Lovers’ brand,” said Rita McClenny, president and CEO of Virginia Tourism Corporation, a Richmond-based business that aims to grow visitation to the commonwealth.
