Anxious, of course, but somehow he remained calm and confident that he would get the college football opportunity that was right for him. That came Monday in the form of a scholarship offer from Appalachian State.
The 6-foot-5, 280-pound tackle had a few other offers, like Eastern Michigan, Buffalo and Southern Illinois, but the North Carolina school that used to be an FCS powerhouse was where he wanted to be. Alexander signed with Appalachian State on Wednesday.
