Main Street Conference to bring state officials and hundreds of visitors to Morganton

City workers are scrambling to prepare for the North Carolina Main Street Conference, which will swell Morganton with more than 500 leaders from across the state next week.

The N.C. Main Street Center is part of the N.C. Department of Commerce Rural Development Division, and aims to revitalize downtowns across the state through the N.C. Main Street and Small Town Main Street programs, according to www.nccommerce.com.
