Allegiant adding flights to Concord, NC, and Memphis

Allegiant Air is beefing up its presence in Fort Lauderdale with plans to add routes by mid-year to Concord, N.C., and Memphis, Tenn.

Allegiant to start Fort Lauderdale-to-Indy flights April 8

The low-cost carrier will launch nonstop service from Orlando Sanford International Airport to Raleigh-Durham, N.C., on May 7 and to Memphis May 22. That’s in addition to new seasonal service between Orlando and Myrtle Beach, which starts June 4.

“Florida is an important state in the Allegiant network, with over half of our scheduled service focused on bringing travelers to the Sunshine State,” Jude Bricker, senior vice president of planning for parent Allegiant Travel Co., said in a statement.

Introductory airfares from Fort Lauderdale to Concord start at $34 one way and to Memphis, $66 one way through Wednesday. Seats are limited and not available on all flights, and fares are valid for travel by Nov. 3, Allegiant said.

Allegiant will celebrate 10 years of service to Florida in May.

In the past year Allegiant has added or announced service to a handful of destinations from Fort Lauderdale, including flights to Columbus, Ohio, which will begin March 13, and to Indianapolis, Ind., on April 8.

On Feb. 13, Allegiant began flying from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood to Syracuse, N.Y.
