CHARLOTTE—The Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority is recognizing some of the organizations that impact tourism in Charlotte.
The organization handed out the visit Charlotte Partner of the Year awards on Wednesday to people who strive to make Charlotte a tourist destination.
The head of the CRVA said the billions of dollars a year in visitor spending have helped improve the city.
“Business spending has done so much for our community when you think about how it assisted in getting the Westin Hotel built, how it caused the convention center to be built, Time Warner Cable Arena, NASCAR Hall of Fame, helped getting the BBT ballpark built. So lots of support from visitors spending that has made our community a better place to live,” said CRVA CEO Tom Murray.
Some of this year’s winners included professionals from Silver Fox Chauffeured Transportation and Aloft Hotel’s Ballantyne location.
