An evening of visual and performing arts hosted by the Therapeutic Arts Programming (TAP) Committee will be 6:30-8 p.m. Nov. 20, at the Community Performance Center, 249 E. Veteran tributes
▪ A Veterans Day Commemoration will be 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday at Saluda Trail Middle School. Liz Hood, media specialist, has organized displays, exhibits and invited veterans and state dignitaries to talk with students about patriotism and military service. More than 20 military organizations will be represented.
▪ A Tribute to Veterans event will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Veterans Garden at Glencairn Garden, Edgemont Avenue, Rock Hill. This patriotic program will honor men and women of the military. Tabletop Gaming for Teens and Adults, 2:30-5:30 p.m. Sunday, will focus on Mensa Select award-winning games like Kulami, Hive, Forbidden Island and Qwirkle, among others. For teens and adults; children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration not required.
Volunteers
▪ The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program needs volunteers to help low-income, elderly and handicapped taxpayers prepare income tax returns. Volunteers will be trained by the Internal Revenue Service, N.C. and S.C. Departments of Revenue to prepare basic tax returns. Training is free and is offered to volunteers who are willing to learn to prepare 1040A, 1040EZ, and the basic 1040 forms with schedule A and B. Training will include filing on computers. Training will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Jan. 11-15 at Rock Hill City Hall in the wellness center on the first floor. Volunteers can choose hours and days they wish to work.
