BOONE COUNTY –
A Sheridan woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred on County Roads 650 N and 1200 East near Sheridan a little after 9:00 am.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office says 34-year-old Melisa M. Shinault of Sheridan died in the crash. According to the sheriff’s office, Shinault was northbound on CR 1200 East approaching 650 North when her vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons.
The car struck a guide wire for a utility pole, then crossed over 650 North and struck a rock, then a tree. The car came to a rest overturned.
Shinault was prounounced dead at the scene by Sheridan Fire Department Medics. The Boone County Crash Team responded to the scene to inverstigate. The crash is still under investigation by the Boone County Crash Team.
Shinault leaves behind a husband and three children.
