Yvonne Stewart, special projects coordinator-City of Winchester has earned certification as a “Travel Marketing Professional” (TMP) after completing the three-year program of the Southeast Tourism Society (STS) Marketing College.
Stewart was one of 37 new TMPs recognized at the STS spring meeting in Charlotte, N.C. STS Marketing College started in 1992 and, to date, 879 people have earned their TMP certification.
In addition to the TMP, Stewart received their Festivals and Events certification, via the Southeast Festivals and Events Association (SFEA). The Festivals and Events Certification, requires an additional 24 hours of course work during Marketing College.
The Festivals and Events sessions focus on overall operations, logistics, safety, merchandising, sponsorship and entertainment components. After the classroom work, students also must complete a project that relates to their employment.
